Next-generation sequencing (NGS) refers to a group of modern sequencing technologies that allow researchers to sequence large volumes of DNA or RNA in parallel, dramatically increasing speed, throughput, and scalability compared to traditional approaches.

The Illumina Next Seq 2000 uses XLEAP-SBS chemistry, an advanced sequencing-by-synthesis method with state-of-the-art dyes, novel linkers, and blocks that are heat-resistant, reduce hydrolysis by 50×, and enable 2.5× faster block cleavage. The polymerase is engineered for faster nucleotide incorporation with higher fidelity, improving data quality and reducing phasing and prephasing errors. The NextSeq 2000 can generate up to 1.8 billion single-end reads per run, with scalable output ranging from 30 Gb to 540 Gb per run, depending on flow cell type and read configuration.

The Agilent TapeStation 4200 provides a rapid assessment of fragment sizing using a ScreenTape based capillary electrophoresis system for independent sample quality control. Library validation and sizing is also a primary function for the TapeStation 4200.

The Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 7 Flex Real-Time PCR System (384-well format) enables a broad range of real-time PCR-based applications through its multiplexing capabilities. It boasts a simplified workflow, intuitive software, automation capabilities, and touch-screen interface that offers exceptional reproducibility with minimal well-to-well and instrument-to-instrument variation.
